Renault has moved on with the bad endure it had with the Mahindra Renault Logan In India. Renault has sold off the Logan brand to Mahindra and absolute to make its move in Indian on its own. As a part of its road map for India, Renault will launch the Renault Fluence sedan in India as ahead of time as June 2011. This intelligence has been reveal at the Geneva Motor Show 2011. The Fluence is previously on road tests in India and several spy pictures have been floating around the Internet recently. The most interesting part of the burst into the price, as per reports, the pricing will be kept below 15 Lakhs which will place Fluence in the price bracket of Chevrolet Cruze, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and other sedans of the 12 to 15 Lakhs segment. At this pricing, Renault Fluence will endure luxury endure of the higher price segment cars like Volkswagen Jetta , Skoda Laura, Honda Accord etc..

The move of Renault to keep it competitive on pricing seems like a win-win circumstance for the buyers as well as sellers. Renault will benefit not only by selling more units, but also by creating the much needed presence on Indian roads. Getting to base a brand which people identify is not an easy job, which might get accomplished by this move.Indian variant of Fluence will feature a 1.5 Litre CRDi Diesel engine with 105 HP power and 250 Nm torque. The features will embrace premium interiors with spacious and luxurious cabin, lots of gadgetry and comfort and safety features like Airbags, Climate Control system, ABS etc..

Renault Kangoo be bop, 2009

Based closely on the Renault Kangoo Compact Concept show car unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, Renault Kangoo be bop is the latest addition to the Kangoo family. The compact size (length: 3.87 metres), original two-tone colour scheme and exclusive interior appointments of this innovative vehicle combine to produce a particularly forceful personality. Its extensive glazed area and four roomy seats afford a sense of space and light. Ideal for escaping the crowd, Renault Kangoo be bop offers open-top motoring at the rear thanks to its glazed sliding roof and rear tailgate window which slides out of sight. At the front it has two tilting glass panels, plus a fixed central glass panel.

A truly original reworking of a show car
Renault Kangoo be bop came into being in the wake of the enthusiasm prompted by the Kangoo Compact Concept show car at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. A compact leisure vehicle with an original design and strong personality, Kangoo Compact Concept showed that an unusual car could appeal to active, sporty urban dwellers who share the values of fun and friendship. In addition to its design, the originality of the concept lay in its extensive glazed area and unique convertibility solutions, with the emphasis on space and light. Renault Kangoo be bop's designers have succeeded in producing a production model which echoes the strengths and features of the concept car.

Renault Kangoo be bop has the Kangoo front end with its short bonnet and droplet-shaped headlamps. Light floods into the cabin through the sweeping, steeply raked windscreen for outstanding visibility. Renault Kangoo be bop differs from its elder sibling by being even shorter (less than four metres in length), as well as through some original styling details, such as the black headlamp masks, specific bumpers, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Ground clearance has been raised 20mm compared with Renault Kangoo, while protective side mouldings lend the look of 'urban adventurer', ready to confront the great outdoors. Its robust, expressive lines are energized by the standard two-tone colour scheme handed down from the concept car. The bonnet, grille, outside rearview mirrors, front bumper bib and tailgate panel are Sideral Grey, while the rest of the bodywork is another colour, e.g. Etincelle Orange, borrowed from Kangoo Compact Concept. Another similarity is the elongated, semi-circular form of the side windows, which make Renault Kangoo be bop instantly recognisable. The large tailgate window slides right out of sight into the door. It is operated by a switch on the instrument panel or by a third button on the ignition key, and makes it possible to access the boot without having to unlock the car or open the tailgate. The system naturally incorporates an anti-pinch safety function.

Renault Kangoo be bop features the same convertible roof configuration seen on the concept car, with a fully glazed, forward-sliding panel at the rear. With the rear section of the roof and rear window in the open position, Renault Kangoo be bop's rear passengers are able to enjoy the delights of open-air motoring. The roof opens at an angle which creates a deflecting effect to prevent bothersome turbulence while on the move. Its 'open' and 'closed' positions are secured by two side locks. It opens independently of the tailgate with the help of two small rams.

The wide, fixed middle glazed panel contributes to the cabin's brightness, while the two front tilting glass panels ensure that front-seat occupants also get a taste of the open air. Even when open, the panels do not interfere with the forward-sliding rear roof. The glazed roof panels have all been treated to filter out the sun's ultraviolet rays.

A unique ride experience
Despite its compact exterior dimensions, Renault Kangoo be bop affords an amazingly generous, warm living space. The emphasis is on space and light. Its extensive 3.9 sq. metres of glazed area (roof and windows) flood the cabin with light. Front occupants benefit from the sweeping windscreen inherited from Renault Kangoo, while the large, semi-circular side windows heighten the rear passengers' sense of travelling comfort, redolent of the tranquillity afforded by a modern high-speed train such as the TGV. The rear windows also permit excellent threequarter rear vision for manoeuvring and overtaking.

At home in town and country
At only 3.87 metres in length, Renault Kangoo be bop is perfectly at home in towns and cities. Its wheelbase is 38cm shorter than that of Renault Kangoo which permits a smaller turning circle. Renault Kangoo be bop can be turned round between kerbs just 9.7 metres apart, making it as agile as the most manoeuvrable city car.

A vehicle for leisure and pleasure, Renault Kangoo be bop is powered by engines that yield genuine driveability and which are robust, economical, and kind to the environment, including two diesel powerplants - the 85hp dCi and the 100hp dCi which comes with a particulate filter and drives through a six-speed gearbox - and the petrol 105hp 1.6 16V unit.
On certain markets, the 105hp engine is available with a particulate filter which comes with a fifth injector on the exhaust line.

The 1.6 16V petrol engine develops 105hp at 5,750rpm and maximum torque of 148Nm at 3,750rpm. It delivers outstanding driveability and low combined cycle fuel consumption (7.7 litres/100km) thanks to the use of lightweight materials and a timing system with roller cam followers.

Whether on city streets or open country roads, occupants will be reassured by Renault Kangoo be bop's safety credentials, with active safety on a par with that of a family saloon. It is equipped with Bosch ABS incorporating electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency brake assist and automatic activation of hazard lights. Bosch ESC 8.0, combined with understeer control, comes as standard on Renault Kangoo.

Renault Kangoo be bop is assembled at the ISO 14001-certified MCA Maubeuge plant in France, contains 7kg of recycled plastics (6% of its weight) and is 95% recoverable by weight (85% recyclable). Renault Kangoo be bop dCi 85 emits just 138g of CO2/km, making it perfectly eligible for the Renault eco² signature.

Renault Fluence ZE Concept, 2009

Renault Fluence ZE Concept is a statement of Renault's intention to produce a range of zeroemission vehicles that meet the needs of all types of customer. Renault Fluence ZE Concept is a genuine family car which demonstrates that attractive styling, comfort and space can go hand in hand with respect for the environment.

Renault Fluence ZE Concept is an all-electric car with a range of 160km. The battery can be charged using one of three methods: a standard charge (between four and eight hours), a quick charge (20 minutes) or an immediate solution (three minutes) in the form of the exclusive 'Quickdrop' rapid battery exchange system.

Renault Fluence ZE Concept previews the forthcoming electric version of Fluence, and represents a solution to zero-emission motoring in the world of tomorrow.

A FAMILY FATHER LOOKING FOR AN ECOLOGICAL FAMILY CAR

You don't have to be young, rich, single, trendy and living in the city to drive an electric car. Renault has proved as much with Renault Fluence ZE Concept, a car aimed squarely at the single-car family father who would use the car every day to go to the office, but who would also want to take his wife and children to the country at the weekend. Therefore, the car needs to serve to an extent as a status symbol, but it must also provide enough interior space to function as a comfortable family car. The owner is environmentally aware, but wants to maintain his or her lifestyle and habits, too, without feeling guilty for it.

ELECTRIC MOBILITY WITH A PASSION
The styling cues of Renault Fluence ZE Concept combine the design language of motoring pleasure with the visual signature of Renault's range of electric vehicles.

Renault Fluence ZE Concept possesses dynamic lines, highlighted by a fluid character line which sweeps from the headlights to the rear shoulders. It is 4,820mm long, has a wide track of 1,672 mm, is wellproportioned and exudes status-enhancing, elegant looks.

Renault Fluence ZE Concept also clearly belongs to Renault's 'family' of electric vehicles thanks to:
    * its Atmosphere Blue body colour,
    * the specific luminous blue signature which features in the curved lower part of the body sides,
    * the use of LEDs at the front and rear,
    * the design of its headlights,
    * the recess behind the logo on the bonnet.

The headlights convey the same impression of softness suggested by the vehicle's overall lines and colour. They are a high-tech feature, too: beneath the 'eyelids' formed by the indicators, the beams of the main headlights are precise and piercing, with the light focused into a single beam by means of a system of prisms.

The vehicle's status-enhancing credentials are further emphasised by the employment of chrome trimming for the belt-line and grille, as well as by its impressive 21-inch wheels. Blue polycarbonate hubcaps seem to slot into the aluminium wheels to create a spiral form which channels the airflow and improves aerodynamic performance.

LUXURY, HARMONY AND… ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Renault Fluence ZE Concept's warmly welcoming and refined interior is based on a combination of flowing forms, the use of soft, supple materials and a mottled ambience. Passengers are comfortably seated in four enveloping seats robed in light leather upholstery. The feet rest on a light blue translucent gel mat, while the brake and accelerator pedals, too, are covered in gel for a greater sense of comfort. When the doors open, the courtesy lighting recalls the luminous blue signature of Renault's electric vehicle range.

The technology used for the dashboard is sophisticated and intuitive. A TFT (Thin Film Transistor) touchscreen displays multimedia information and essential journey-related information such as the navigation function and the location of the nearest 'Quickdrop' station. The display also provides data specific to electric vehicles, such as range optimization information.

Renault Fluence ZE Concept is not respectful of the environment simply because it runs on electricity. Indeed, the entire car has been thought through to optimize energy use:
    * the photovoltaic cells meet part of the car's energy requirements with a view to complementing the power supplied by the battery,
    * the headlights use high-performance electroluminescent diodes which deliver an excellent trade-off between efficiency and energy consumption,
    * the triple-zone climate control system allows occupants to achieve just the right settings for the two seats at the front and at the rear. The air vents also feature a dynamic lighting code, with blue representing the passage of cold air and red representing warm air,
    * the car's aerodynamics have been meticulously honed to minimize drag, including streamlined rear-view mirrors with integrated rearward facing cameras, a completely enclosed underside incorporating a diffuser at the rear, and spiral-form wheel rims,
    * Renault Fluence ZE Concept runs on low rolling resistance Michelin tyres.

THREE BATTERY-CHARGING TECHNIQUES
The driver has three options when it comes to 'filling up' on energy:
    * A standard charge: takes between four and eight hours, via a charging socket situated on the outside of the vehicle.
    * A quick charge: in 20 minutes, using the same socket at specific charging points.
    * The exclusive 'Quickdrop' system: three minutes at a rapid battery exchange station.

Renault Clio Campus, 2009

Renault Clio Campus continues its European career with this month's launch of the very latest version of the model. Since 2005, it has sat alongside new Renault Clio in the range and sold in 22 countries, winning over almost 400,000 customers in Europe alone. In 2008, Renault Clio Campus' leading markets were France (40%), Italy (12%), Algeria (8%), Germany (7%) and Spain (6%). Buyers are attracted by the values championed by the Renault brand and seek a reliable car with low purchase and running costs. They will continue to find these selfsame qualities in the latest-generation version which features even more attractive styling.

New front-end styling
Renault Clio Campus features a new visual identity, with Renault's design team building on the original design which has proved so popular with customers to give it a more modern and more dynamic feel. The redesigned front bumper and grille have been redesigned. The trihedral panel behind the logo has been dropped and the bottom air intake has been modified to highlight the front end's personality. The juxtaposition of curves and horizontal lines adds a distinctly elegant note, while the foglamps are now incorporated in the bumper and crystal headlamp masks have been added. The decorative black B-pillar trimming gives a more harmonious, flowing aspect to the sweep of the side windows.

Sportier upholstery
New cloth upholstery with a black and silver interwoven pattern has been introduced for the most extensively-equipped level's sporty bucket seats. The lateral air-vents, speedometer, rev-counter, gearlever, handbrake and interior door handles are picked out in satin-finish chrome paint, while the instrument needles are red.

Two petrol engines, two diesel engines and one LPG engine (depending on markets)

The Renault Clio Campus range includes a line-up of small capacity engines which all deliver responsive performance and fuel efficiency.

Two petrol engines (1.2 60 and 1.2 16V 75) : responsive performance, economical to buy and run.

Two diesel engines: the dCi 65 and the dCi 85 both emit less than 120g of CO2/km (115g/km and 111g/km respectively).

An LPG version of the 1.2 60 engine is also available. LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is clean and economical, and produces less polluting emissions than a petrol engine, while its CO2 emissions are similar to those of a diesel powerplant (126 g/km). This quiet engine runs on either petrol or LPG, allowing the driver to switch freely from one mode to the other at any time. Its total range is consequently even longer, and a light on the dashboard tells the driver which type of fuel is being used at any given moment.

An economical, ecologically friendly vehicle
All the different versions of new Renault Clio Campus comply with the three criteria required to qualify for the Renault eco² signature. The two dCi versions are eligible for the French state's eco-bonus of €700, while the LPG version qualifies for the special €2,000 eco-bonus.

Incontestable quality and reliability
Like all the models which make up Renault's small car range, Renault Clio Campus offers best-level quality and reliability. As a model, it has come of age and its robustness and build-quality have long been widely praised. Renault Clio Campus benefits from the vast experience and expertise Renault has gained with Renault Clio II since 1998 and incorporates the very latest design standards applied by the brand to all new projects.

A compact, versatile hatchback
Renault Clio Campus is built on the same proven platform which has been so highly acclaimed since the introduction of Clio II in 1998, and today still with new Twingo since 2007. This platform delivers a first class compromise between comfort and dynamic performance, and enables Renault Clio Campus to stand out as a truly versatile hatchback.

Best-level running costs
The engines which have been selected for the range, along with its small size and contained weight, ensure that Renault Clio Campus is particularly fuel efficient. Thanks to the fitment of 14-inch tyres and widely-spaced servicing intervals (every two years/30,000km for petrol versions, or every year/30,000km for diesel versions), maintenance costs are very affordable.

A high standard of active and passive safety
Renault Clio II became the first vehicle to secure a four-star EuroNCAP crash test rating in 2001, proof that the platform on which it is based has active and passive safety built in to its DNA. ABS, emergency brake assist and adaptive front airbags are standard equipment, while Renault Clio Campus's safety credentials can be further enhanced by optional lateral head/thorax airbags.

I posted a couple photos of this before athttp://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2008/12/similar-to-sleeping-beauties.html but these do a better job of giving us a look all over it. Found at http://www.forum-auto.com/automobiles-mythiques-exception/section5/sujet225087-5775.htm

French car manufacturer Renault will use the Geneva Show to unveil the Kangoo Maxi Z.E., the newest member of its EV family that will go on sale in autumn 2011. Available in two or five-seat configurations, the Kangoo Maxi Z.E. has a maximum carrying capacity of 4.6 cubic meters (162.4 cubic feet), thanks to the 40 cm longer wheelbase (1.3 ft) than the Kangoo Z.E., while the load length is 2.9 meters (9.5 ft).

The five-seat version comes with a 60/40-split folding rear bench, which disappears into the floor to release a completely flat deck and free up almost 3.4 cubic meters (120 cubic feet) of carrying space.

The van is powered by a 60-horsepower electric motor, which has an instant peak torque of 226 Nm (166 lb-ft) and is "fuelled" by a 22kWh lithium-ion battery located under the floor. Charging time varies between 6 and 8 hours, with each full charge costing EUR1.5 ($2.05) and the average driving range being around 170 km (105 miles).

As with its other electric models, Renault will offer clients the possibility of either buying or leasing the car, with an additional monthly subscription to be paid for the battery (from EUR72/$99). Renault's calculations indicate the annual maintenance cost for the Kangoo Maxi Z.E. will be similar to the conventional model if the distance traveled is less than 15,000 km (9,320 miles), and become more competitive as the mileage grows.

Pre-tax pricing in Europe starts from €21,200 ($29,100), with prices in France after a €5,000 state subsidy beginning from €16,200 ($22,250), which is very close to the price of a diesel-engined Kangoo Maxi.

It appears that Renault's low cost brand Dacia is getting ready to expand its reach into yet another segment. After the top of the line Duster soft roader, the Romanian manufacturer is planning a seven seater MPV for next year, at least according to a report from French car journal, L'Automobile.

The magazine said the MPV will carry the Popster nameplate and will ride on a modified version of the Logan's platform. The engine lineup is said to include a 1.5 dci engine with various power outputs and 1.2-, 1.4- and 1.6 liter petrol engines. Measuring around 4.5 meters in length, the Popster is said to slot in between Dacia's own Logan MCV and Renault's larger Grand Scenic and come in at under €15,000.

And the MPV won't be the last new model for Dacia as it is reported the Romanian company is also planning its own version of the Kangoo, currently codenamed Project K97. It will feature sliding doors and a spilt tailgate, just like the Logan MCV and though we don't have a name for this light van-like vehicle yet, L`Automobile Magazine reports an estimated price of around 13.000 euros.
